How about some OC action this month. I will start it off with my 1902ish Kampfe/Star. What will your OC choices look like? Cool

  New Box for Rotary Tools
Posted by: Jayaruh - 10-02-2020, 07:24 PM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (3)

This is shave related because I use my rotary tool a lot in making brushes. I received an order of 20 rotary bits and had no place to store them. So, I got this idea to make a box to hold them and keep them safe. Here it is. There are 30 holes. I stuck in a few sanding cylinders that I had on hand, too.

Photo Baby girl update
Posted by: kyle3rv - 10-01-2020, 01:06 PM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (8)

Hi guys posted a photo of my premature baby a while back thought I'd give a little update. Aside from some stomach issues and not sleeping well at night she is doing very well and getting big. Starting to use her hands and try to rip of glasses and pull hair.

I'll fix the photos later they got cutoff

Getting ready to be three months. Also might start posting some shaves again.

  Wilkinson Empire Gem mod
Posted by: twhite - 09-30-2020, 12:02 AM - Forum: Blade Modifying - Replies (13)

Ok people. I have had the good fortune of getting an Empire razor. It was given to me to see if I could get an Injector blade to work. Unfortunately the blade is not long enough to catch the blade stops. Well not to be defeated, I went to town on an SE blade. I think it just might work.

I removed the spine and cut the height down to 11mm or 7/16” then put the spine back on. There is enough width to catch. This is an industrial blade as I tried this at work. I will try a good blade and see how it goes. Pretty straight forward mod. [Image: 8-FDB7-C28-C039-42-A3-8-F9-D-4-F58-A36668-BB.jpg]

  Finally! Rain!
Posted by: ShadowsDad - 09-28-2020, 01:00 PM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (15)

Badly needed rain at that! It's been months since we had any and that's very unusual for Maine. We're in a severe drought and that too is unusual. The grass has been brown for months, people with marginal wells have no water, forest fire danger is high and Maine is 90% forest (the most in the USA). This time of year the trees lose their leaves and go dormant, but they are weeks early in doing that due to drought stress.
But I woke up this morning to water dripping off of the roof and things outside wet. It's forecast to rain for a good part of the week with up to 2.5" in some areas. We need more than that to get caught up, but any is better than nothing. Slow extended rain is exactly what we need. It soaks in rather than running off into the drainage and out to sea.

Has anyone tried Ogallala Aftershave?  I just ordered a puck of bay-rum shave soap and was curious about the AS.
