Love Williams... it's the soap I use the most!!

Currently a DE shaver with a Gillette 1961 Fatboy.  I'm sure that will change in the near future.  Love the vintage SE razors.  Simple is by far the way I like to go.  Big Williams fan!   I hope to learn about the great SE razors of yesteryear.  Glad to be here!!

Well, I seem to have missed this subforum for some reason. How rude.

My name is Robin, and I am a security consultant (kidnap first, latterly cyber). I used to shave with unmentionables (the folding kind from Solingen or Eskilstuna) for many years before stumbling across an OCMM. Love at first sight, life changed, and all that.

My standard setup these days is a Streamline with Meißner Tremonia Mint ice Menthol  soap and aftershave.

   

Either way, props and kudos to the gentlemen who built this site. It is a great improvement over the old forum.

I found this on EBay and it is likely to take quite some time to arrive here.
Just thought I would post it here, while I'm waiting, so you guys could confirm (or otherwise) it is a 1906, I think it must be though I believe there are a few variations? Any information would be great.

I've recently acquired a Star razor from the famous site.

I've shaved with the razor a couple of times. I expected the shave to be similar to Star Cru Steel or Ever Ready 1914, which feels very aggressive to me.

However, it has a mid range aggressiveness similar to Gem 1912. I don't like shaving with Star Cru steel but shaving with this razor was a pleasure. 

Anybody enlighten me about this razor?

I just finished this stand for a shaver across the street. He wanted a stand with three rows of 5, so this is what I came up with. 

I went to the post office yesterday to send out a package. When I was leaving I noticed one of the local Antique stores was open. It happened to be the first day they reopened since everything that's been going on.
I had gone around about 3/4 of the store not seeing anything. Then there they were. 8 razors. I wasn't interested in 2 of them but the other 6 were calling me. I had a little cash in my wallet for just such an occasion. I had decided on 2 when the both owner walked up. I asked if he would reduce the price of the Schick because the handle was cracked. Even though the tag said firm he dropped the price. So figuring nothing ventured nothing gained I put the 6 razors I was was interested in all lined up on the shelf and asked if he'd make me a deal on the 6 together. He said $20 for those 6.
They were all priced $5 except 1 at $3 and the shick he had dropped to $3 from $5 because of the crack. So total price each worked out to $3.33.   can't beat that for my first day back in an antique store.

I think the Schick is a type G but I'm terrible with remembering ID info so please verify or correct if that's the case.
I plan on making a custom handle for the Schick.
