  Sir Justin!

Join me in welcoming the newest member to The Order. mayer57619 took on the task of sorting out the plugins and other stuff we needed to get Tost3 running. He has done so on his own time. Behind the scenes he continues to be a driving force as well.

Thank you for your time and effort on out behalf!! Welcome to The Order of the Toady Sir Justin.

These old lather catchers are great shavers. They are easy to use also.

So question fir the group. Do we want to bring over post counts from TOST or let everyone start new? It is a manual one at a time operation but is not really hard. What say the gang?

  Walking Stick
Posted by: Jayaruh - 06-21-2020, 12:29 AM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (8)

I ran into a guy at Sam's Club today who had  a nice home made walking stick, and we struck up a conversation. He has made hundreds of them and given them away. He said he had some out in his truck and that I could pick one out. Well, I did. It was a walking stick height, but I cut it down and put a handle on it to make it more of a cane for me. Here are the pictures after I finished. I ended up taking about a foot off the whole length, some from the top and some from the bottom.

I secured the handle to the top with two dowels.

Am I wrong, or did post counts and other data carry over for some?  I was forced to "register", so all that's gone for me.  It's not a huge disappointment, because post counts aren't that important to me.  Just curious what happened.

Anyways..I'm Matt from Athens, TX.

Not to sure about how much I will contribute,I loved Tost2 such a wealth of info. I am not good with photo apps so dropped out of posting. Also have gone a bit overboard on use of modern SE rather than Vintage, so posting SOTD with modern SE not appropriate for the site ?

  Face-lathering with Col. Conk Amber
Posted by: Jayaruh - 06-19-2020, 02:23 PM - Forum: How to videos. - No Replies

I prefer sticks and pucks that you can just rub on your face now. That eliminates having to load your brush. I also prefer cold water shaves. I just wet my brush with cold water and use it to wet my face. If I can rub the soap directly on the face, that is preferred. That is what I do in this short video. It works great for me. The soap is Col. Conk Amber that I melted into an old deodorant dispenser. I am lathering with my Jayaruh #1 Silvertip Badger, the first of my hand-made brushes.

  100 Subscribers on Youtube
Posted by: Jayaruh - 06-16-2020, 03:12 PM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (11)

I was notified that I got my 100th subscriber on Youtube today. I never thought about it, it just happened. But, to celebrate. I am going to do a giveaway. It is happening across the street, but I wanted to include folks here. https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/i...st-1811489

I am going to give away a Jayaruh brush and probably some other stuff, too. We will see. I am running this giveaway for a week or two depending on the interest.

You can see my last video here: https://youtu.be/fXsWQTBWQk0 and if you like you can subscribe or not.
