UNKNOWN Vintage SE razor (Seeking Info)
Posted by: Dave in KY - 09-12-2021, 11:58 AM - Forum: Other SE brands. - Replies (5)

Not sure if it's a Unicorn but have ZERO info on this razor I got and have modified a Gem blade for a future shave. All it has is a picture on the box and the razor only has a Nov. 14, 1911 Patent Date The lever on the front raises the blade trade to secure the blade. The blade is narrower than a Gem blade and had to be cut down as well as removing the spine. If the spine isn't removed the lever would not close to secure the blade as it was to thick with the spine attached.

  Cobra Classic and King Cobra

I was gifted this Cobra Classic and King Cobra by a very generous shaver from Houma, LA. I made the box to house them. They use the Artist Club style blades and are fun to shave with, too. I will be shaving with them this week.

So I read up on an old post on this razor and t was described as extremely efficient with the wedge blade and takes a Modern Gem but with it and the abyss of a blade gap is and I quote, "This combination is massively aggressive!" and he had the straight bar version Big Grin I will concur that it is aggressive but if you have your technique down and respect it, it gives a super smooth and effective shave with glass smooth results. Coffee............I NEED Coffee..........and a Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffin. Have a great weekend everyone !!

I picked up this old brush on a whim some time ago and finally got round to doing something with it.
A bit of paint, some polish and a donor Omega knot.
It turned out OK, I'll take it for a run tomorrow.

Williams Wednesday's Shave
[Image: zcws.jpg]

Cold Water Rinse
Williams Mug Soap
Jayaruh #426
Gillette Twinjector
Personna Injector
CWR
Lucky Tiger AS

The Williams Mug Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #426 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gillette Twinjector with a Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lucky Tiger AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Join me in welcoming @“ Dave in KY ” to the tost3 mod team. He is one of our most prolific posters and just generally runs amuck. His collection of the good stuff is also veddy neat.

Recently some of the original Mods/Admin types have had to go MIA due to life and such. So I know we are chief heavy on the books…. But.not in practice.

Thanks to Dave for trying in the new coat and good luck Sir!!
