Thread closed across the street
#1
In April 2011 @ “bird lives” started a SE and Injector party thread across the street. At that time TOST2 was closed. After 10 + years and. 1646 pages that thread is closed.

This thread is closed.

Hi all. You may have noticed that we are doing some spring cleaning in the summer. The Safety Razors thread is a place to show various razors and discuss the razors themselves. It is not the place to post your daily shaves or unrelated posts. There's just way too much overlapping and redundant posting in this thread. Please post those in their appropriate area, the Shower or Shave (SoS) of the Day thread. Also feel free to start a new injector and/or SE thread but keep it on topic of the actual razors themselves.

Thanks all!

What a run!!
Happy shaves to ya!

While they may be right about their move to consolidate all SOTDs  under one mega SOS thread for saving space, the individuality and flavors of each such unique threads will be lost. The injectors and SE was first created in 2011 and it has 10 years of conversations.
That was somewhat disappointing to observe to see individual character being merged in to one multi facted thread.
I also noticed  a new "injector and SE" thread created. This was a confusion move - as well have continued the old thread !

Management sucks! It was obviously a popular thread that folks enjoyed and looked forward to participating in, now it's gone. Remove the unused stuff, keep the stuff that brings users to the forum.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

They kicked me to the curb as well, bad decisions all around, they should let the creativity flow and grow.

I liked the various threads they happened to close down. I go on different razor kicks. while I am on one. I prefer to only follow those including SOTD of said threads. I am not interested in all the others.

I understand their reasoning, But not for me so much.

Lets celebrate the great run it had and be thankful for tost3.

I was very disappointed to see that thread closed. That was the main thread I went there for. Actually lately I barely ventured elsewhere. Except for 2 threads I had started but they shut down at least one of those too. As Wchnu said it's there forums and they can run it as they see fit. Also as luv2shave pointed out, what's the point of starting a new thread. They could just ask us to follow certain rules as best we can. Like don't post the same content in multiple threads. Or keep side conversation in a specific appropriate thread. I'll check out the SOS thread they recommended and maybe meet some new people which is great but how am I supposed to get to know anyone better if we have to "keep on topic" as sthey stated. Luckily we can go a little off topic here as long as we don't get out of hand (or mind dodging bricks).

I think you have stumbled onto a new Olympic sport.

Absolutely to both of these responses.
