Thursday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Proraso Red
Jayaruh #2 Badger
3D AC-Matic Razor
Feather Artist Club blade
CWR
Mennen Skin Bracer

The Proraso Red Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #2 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 3D AC-Matic Razor and the Feather Artist Club blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Mennen Skin Bracer. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Fine looking set up! This is an example of one of those perfect type set ups...Simple and everything is simply right. Schick really hit an apex with the E types, and this one looks like a beautiful example of the breed.

Agree
I recently acquired another E, a cased E3 in a razor lot that turned out to be in excellent condition.
That will be my next Schick SOTD coming up soon.

Thanks. I wish I could remember which version of the E this is. I'm not very good at deciphering the variant differences.

Razor: Ever-Ready 1924
Blade: Personna GEM SS PTFE (2)
SOAP: HAGS HELLFIRE CLUB
BRUSH: RAZOROCK BC Silvertip Plissoft Synthetic 24mm
Post Shave:  Dickinson's WITCH HAZEL HYDRATING TONER WITH ROSEWATER

This was my second time using the HAGS Guinness base soap as I used it first yesterday with on an unmentionable shave.  A 30-second load on the tips of a damp synthetic knot produced a nice slick creamy bowl lather with a good sheen, enough for 3+ passes. When they say the HAGS Guinness base "helps to create a wonderful creamy conditioning lather", they ain't kidding. Post shave feel is hydrated and smooth. A 2 pass shave with the E-R 24 is all I needed today.
The scent of HAGS Hellfire Club is a homage to Dior Sauvage, which works for me since I like scents that have some warm darker notes in the mix.

All the E's are great..but here are the differences so you can tell which yours is.
E1 flat spring, opens.
E2-2: round spring, opens, lather rinse opening is 2 horizontal holes with bar between.
E2-3: round spring, opens, lather rinse opening bar has been removed making it one long horizontal hole
E2-4: first fixed spring. End of spring tab looks like E2 that opens but has a tab added on left side so it doesn't open.
E3-5: 2nd fixed spring type...spring tab has pin in the center of tab to keep it from opening.
E3-6: same as E3-5 except guard bar has horizontal lines, stirations.

Best, Bird

OK here are some pictures. I get the round spring that opens which I have Pic 1.Aand the split rinse opening which I have Pic 2. Horizontal stratifications is the one I'm not sure about. It has texture running in the direction of the red arrow Pic 3 that looks like a scratch pattern left by rough sandpaper.
