SOTD September 2021
Also Old Sarge this is what my top cap looks like. There is a bit of curve causing a bit more gap in the middle.

Dead '14.

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

If anyone has never been to Arlington Cemetery, it's a can't miss if you visit DC. I visit every time. It's humbling.

The cream was gifted me and was a nice cream to use. Good protection and slickness with a pleasant scent. No Open Comb today but will be using a fair amount this month of OCtober. Got the ER Shovelhead in when a youtube viewer asked how it compares to the 1912. Had a great shave and glad to have it but it tends to hold water in the cap when you rinse it and runs down your face. Even that aside prefer the shave of the 1912. Both great razors and won't go wrong with either but 1912 for me is the preference. Find out for yourself which "floats your boat." Crummy boss making me work a Friday to get ahead for camping beginning of November. Have a great day Everyone !!

I don't think they take razors there. Tongue

That should not be on Mrs. Lee's property, Lincoln was being a childish jackass when he started burying dead soldiers at her front door.

You're right about not taking razors. It's gotten real tough for people to even get buried there due to space limitations.

Regardless of history, this is a special place. I've been there with colleagues visiting their friends. The Changing of the Guard Ceremony at The Tomb of the Unknowns is not to be missed.

Thank you sir. He was a good razor, quiet, never bothered anyone, he will live on in our hearts.

Is it sacrilegious to put a puck of Williams in a Proraso shaving mug?

After the failings of the previous Williams Wednesday, last night I did a test lather to see if I could dial it in better. Sorry Jayaruh, but I abandoned the rub it on technique. I first aggressively loaded the brush off the puck from the Proraso mug and then lathered it up in a Timeless Razor bowl. I added a good amount of water, a wee bit at a time, and beat it to within an inch of its life. This created a real thick lather that didn't dissipate when I painted it on my face.

So today I followed the same procedure, loading a bit less soap, and ended up with an adequate lather that was not as thick as yesterday. When I lathered up my face, it was a bit too airy. However, I found that if I just kept at it by painting and painting and painting...the bubbles cleared and the lather thickened up. I know Wchnu would not approve of all this fussiness with Williams, but I find a thick, hydrated lather to be best for me as a noob.

In the end a 2.5 pass shave was successful and I've redeemed myself with the Williams! I feel more comfortable with the Damaskeene with each passing shave.

Sigh. Po’ Williams. Beat like a rented mule AND bowl lathered. Ugh.  Cool Big Grin
Happy shaves to ya!

I agree on the 1912 over 1924. I need to let you borrow my 1915 Kampfe. I think you would like.
