Unable to access from my Andrioid phone
Posted by: Whiterook - 12-06-2022, 07:53 PM - Forum: SUM TING WONG - Replies (18)

For the last few days I have been unable to access the forum.   Every link wants to download a php file which does nothing.   I am running Chrome,  Android 12 on a Galaxy S21.    It was all good on Saturday, I believe but has been downhill since.  It seems to work from my Chromebook, but I much prefer to use my phone.

  Wilkinson Sword Empire Set
Posted by: Jayaruh - 12-04-2022, 05:45 PM - Forum: Other SE brands. - Replies (16)

On November 22, I did a search on eBay for a Wilkinson Sword razor and found this one. It is one I have never had, but wanted. It was a buy it now, and so I did. Coming from the UK, it is now located just down the road in South Cackalacky. I am hoping to see it one day this week. It has some blades with it that I will be sending to twhite to make shave ready.

Thursday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Musgo Real Shave Soap
Jayaruh #4 Badger
3D InjecTR v1 Razor
Schick Plus Platinum blade
CWR
Lustray Spice AS

The Musgo Real Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #4 Badger brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 3D InjecTR v1 Razor and the Schick Plus Platinum blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

  A day at the dermatologist

I left home at 7 this morning to get to the drs office by 7:45. I had two spots that were going to be dealt with: one on my neck and one on my temple. Mohs surgery is where they take a sampling around the spot and look at it for cancer. If they find none, then you are done. If they find some, they go back and excise more. This cycle continues until it is all clear. He took samples from both places and sent me to the waiting room. After about 45 minutes they came back and announced that they would have to do it again to both. After they took the second samples I was again sent to the waiting room. When done, I found out that the neck was clear but they needed to do more on the temple. I found out that they would have to do a skin graft for the temple since it was so big. It was about the size of a quarter. After the third biopsy, I was declared clean. Now they had to stitch everything up. He stitched up the neck first. Then, they cut donor skin from my clavicle skin. It was after 3 o'clock before we could leave. It was a long day. We went to Little Pigs and had some BBQ before heading home.

A lovely Kampfe Star HR-3A in excellent condition (even the blade looks unused) in a nice "The GEM" Set with a great A. J. Jordan box. OK, I paid about $90 for it, but that's a complete bargain.
According to Hazelcorn, this model is as rare as it gets.
Even 15 years ago he priced it at about $250 unboxed.
This beauty is 135 years old and it doesn't look a day older than I do.
A lucky buy-it-now find, while looking for something else.  Big Grin

Originally celebrated as Armistice Day it has become the day we celebrate, remember, acknowledge the service of both the living and the dead who gave some or all in military service to their country, the United States of America.

Water Line Leak and No Internet
Posted by: Jayaruh - 11-10-2022, 12:38 AM - Forum: The Front Porch - Replies (9)

Today was a day for the books. I woke up to no Internet. I called our carrier, and we tried rebooting the router. No luck. So they put me on their work list for today. I finally got this one resolved around  4PM.
Next, there was a leak in our water line on the city side of the meter, thank God. So, after about three weeks of waiting, and a number of phone calls including one by our neighbor to the mayor, a crew showed up. After a little more that three hours, they fixed the leak and covered over the hole. What a day. We are finally settling in to watch some TV tonight.
