The Rolls Razor

The Rolls Razor was a safety-razor made by British company Rolls Razor Limited from 1922 to 1958. I got my first one back in 2013. It had a 1947 blade in it. I did not consider it as a safety-razor because I considered the safety bar just a kick stand to protect the blade when setting it down. However, I have modified my view and now consider it a safety-razor. 

I used this one for years despite the cracked stone.

    

In 2018, I found a Rolls Traveler. It was in very good shape and even had a blade that was never used. The blade is marked 53 for 1953. This is the Rolls I use now. It is a very good shaver.

I was thinking of buying a Rolls Razor, because I'm not able to get a close shave with my C. V. Heljestrand Eskilstuna Kindal. I feel it is too mild, because I'm used to Feather blades on Mülhe R41 head.

Could the Rolls Razors be what I want? Are the vintage blades I already have compatible with the Rolls Razor?

Rolls are wonderful pieces of kit and endlessly durable. The challenge seems to be obtaining and maintaining a suitably sharp edge. Jayaruh would you share how you create and manage  the blade edges to give you a decent shave?

Alex_UNLIMITED the blades you have do not work in a Rolls as their blades are specifically engineered to fit the Rolls handle. Also, if you get a comfortable shave with a Feather/R41 combo, you would need to achieve excellent sharpening skills before you would find a Rolls acceptable. 

The edge management is the key with a Rolls - and only a very few folks likely pull it off.
