I picked up this old brush on a whim some time ago and finally got round to doing something with it.
A bit of paint, some polish and a donor Omega knot.
It turned out OK, I'll take it for a run tomorrow.

Thanks, although it was really quite easy, if it wasn't I would probably mess it up. It's nice to put a bit into it but I'm not like some of the guys here with real skills!

That is very nice!
But,... did you try the original? Some of the original boars from Rubberset and Ever~Ready are pretty amazing.
Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

A fair point but as you see the ferrrule, knot and handle were loose so had to be removed. On these the knot base sticks to the wooden handle and both stick to the furrule holding it all solid. This original knot doesn't look bad but
I have tried using the original boar in an Ever-Ready, it was... bloody awful!

I like scrub and scritch, Ever~Ready is perfect for me.
You have a nice vintage brush, I hope it serves you well!
