Friday's Shave
Cold Water Rinse
Palmolive Shaving Cream
Ever-Ready C-40
Ever-Ready 1914
GEM Blue Star SE
CWR
Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS
The Palmolive Shaving Cream face-lathered well with my Ever-Ready C-40 Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready 1914 Razor with a GEM Blue Star SE blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Lilac Vegetal AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Great before work shave. The video did not work out though. Jayaruh inspired me to get the G4 out. I put in a fresh blade. For some reason this one will let the blade get over one of the blade stops If your not careful loading a blade. It was fine this time. I really like the Clubman shave cream. I just wish it was the clubman scent.
Happy shaves to ya!

Pre: Shower
Brush: Simpson Duke 2
Soap: CR Salter Indian Sandalwood
Razor: Gillette Techmatic SE / Unmentionable
Blade: Nothing to see here, move along please
Post shave: Cold water splash,
Balm: Bart's Balm Rosemary and Sandalwood Balm & Lotion
Aftershave: Old spice Pure Sport
OK Today i decided to "Take 1 for the team" on the other forum i use, and try out this thing of a Gillette Techmatic SE, It was cleaned and prepped last week and i completed a bit research but still had no idea what to expect, As Back-up i had the Wonderful Unmentionable ready to go.
I was a bit enthusiastic with the amount of cream i put in the little Turkish bowl and once the little Duke 2 started on it i found it difficult to keep it in there, i had enough for 2 or 3 full shaves. Plonker.
Anyway, With the razor set to Lo, using a technique i use with any new razor where i start with the handle at 45* then slowly drop the handle until i hit stubble, the angle i found was quite open around 30*. i then opened the blade up to the next notch between Lo and Med.
I completed a no issue WTG pass. no real blade feel although it did seem to struggle in my more stubborn areas.
That's enough of that. I will use it again soon.
I used the \unmentionable to complete the Job, XTG and ATG for a BBS finish,
Dice idea for blade use nicked from TSR Member until i think of something else, i do love the idea of it and i hope he does not mind (Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery).
BBS, comfortable & smelling pretty sporty
Stay safe & enjoy your day All.

This was Shave 2 with my new razor. It went very well. 3 pass BBS no issues. Light touch and I thinned my Lather some. That way I was able to get a better feel for the blade.
I am just waiting for the magnets so I can finish them up.
Have a great weekend.

I had an excellent shave with one of my favorite razors ever. The Gem Jr. Bar is an excellent smooth but efficient razor. This was my first use of this handle I recently made. I like longer handles bit I may have went a little overboard on this one. I'm planning on making myself another slightly smaller handle in a different color combo.
The Stirling soaps Almost Heaven is a wonderful scent and has good slickness. The jury is out on boar brushes. I want to like them but have not been impressed so far. The Thayers aloe formula with cucumber is so much better than the cheep witch hazel I had previously. I look forward to trying the rose when I'm ready to buy more shaving accoutrements.
Having trouble addin a picture with the add attachment option so here is the post image linked image.

Amazing!
The oldest razor I have used and a fantastic shave. I always thought the the stops on the old lather catchers were too close to the front of the guard so once you can adjust that, and the blade gap with the hinged gaurd, on this older razor things really come good. Smooth, comfortable and close. The oldest razor and the best shave.
When I reknotted this brush, since it was in two parts, I put an Australian 20 cent coin in the middle, if you look closely you can see a platypus (ok you have to look very closely and know what your looking for)
