I fell down the SE Rabbit hole with a GEM Featherweight about ten months ago after collecting quite a few “unmentionables” which I still use, but find myself gravitating to the Single edge razors. After the feather weight I got the Micromatic Open Comb, Clogpruf and Bullet tip before adding a bunch of 1912s, a 1914, 1924 and a New GEM lather catcher and Ever Ready lather catcher followed closely by sever Auto Strops. I found TOST3 through Fuzzy’s YouTube channel and I believe that the Single Edge razors give a superior shave and I love the feedback they give when I’m using them—I just wish blades were easier to get as DEs. I’m glad to be part of the wet shaving community but more importantly the subset of the SE crowd.

Welcome to TOST3!
I use the GEM SS PTFE blades and I quickly found the best way to buy them was in bulk. Connaught in the UK had the best price when I was buying. There are domestic sources, but they require an OK from your local go/vermin and the police chief to do business with them. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but my point is that they were making doing business with them difficult. Maybe things have changed? It's been years since I bought any, I have enough for the rest of my life.

I have some vintage and carbon blades and a hundred pack of GEM PTFEs, I just wish there was more availability locally—the frustrating thing is that I live about two hours away from where the GEM PTFEs are manufactured in Verona VA, but ended up ordering and getting them shipped from the RazorBlade company in California. At least we can get blades, just wish they were as plentiful as the DEs are.
