This evening, I decided to do an experiment with a 1930s shave stick that I got in a TSD raffle a few years back. I got two of these sticks, and at the time, I removed the deteriorating coverings and replaced them with aluminum foil. They have been gracing my counter ever since. I decided to give one a go. I put one in some water and let it soak for a good while hoping to rejuvenate it some. Long story short, it did not lather well at all. However, it did give me some slickness that I decided to take advantage of. I did a one pass shave with it and got a pretty good shave. Here is the proof.

![]() Friday's Shave ![]() Cold Water Rinse Barbasol Original Shaving Cream Burma Shave Boar Schick L Personna Injector CWR Barbasol AS The Barbasol Original Shaving Cream was applied with the Burma Shave Boar. One pass and touch ups with the Schick L with a Personna Injector blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Barbasol AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I'm curious what differentiates the Peerless from other 1912s. I thought it was a handle pattern. However I must be mistaken as that roazor has a different pattern than the one I thought it was. I had a fantastic shave with 2 new to me razors yesterday but was having internet issues so I didn't get around to posting it till now. I used a 5th use Gem SS PTFE in both razors. Razor #1 Gem Damaskeen OC. WOW this razor is wonderful. Very Efficient and still very smooth. Several days growth were knocked down to SAS on the first pass were I used the OC Dammy. I did another pass and a half to get a very close shave. Razor #2 was used a little here and there to try it out and it did not disappoint. I'll have to do a full shave with it soon. On initial use it seems very efficient and smooth but not quite as efficient as the OC Dammy. I did get a little irritation on the sides of my Adams apple were the skin was already not exactly happy. However for me that has been par for the with any razor I've used when going for a very close shave.

I have to be honest and say I am not sure of the difference as it was pointed out as a peerless by a knowledgeable member on another forum, he stated it was the handle that made it a peerless. I will try to find the thread with the reasoning. I stand to be corrected any time. Cheers T Update: I bought 2 NOS ER 1912's and somehow put the wrong razor in the wrong packaging, the other is a Bathroom set. I ID'd this one as the bathroom in a SOTD and was corrected, I then checked the sale photos which bore out the reasoning, I believe these are Brit Peerless handles. Again I am open to any help on putting this right.

My apologies. I just looked closer at your photo. That is in fact the handle I thought was the Peerless.
I have one also. So as far as you know the head is the same as any othe Made in England 1912?
