The Wester Bro razor (1905-1915ish) is a great razor. I got mine from HoosierTrooper years ago, and it is one of my top performers. They take a modern blade very well and are surprising nimble. Nice post!! Nice to see you on deck!

That is interesting. Beautiful pictures. I haven't heard of Wester Bros. before. It looks a lot like a J.A. Henkels Rapide. Did you use a wedge blade in it?

Great choice, Rocketman. You are doing well following me. HA! Tomorrow is the Schick E. It belonged to my Dad. He made the wood handle for it. That motivated me to make wood handles for Schicks with broken handles.

SEptember 2025 - Still a chance for all you vintage shave fans to get off…… to blow out the Last Three Days!!
Schick E. I have always been a Schick fan. The problem I always had with selecting one more often than I do is it feels like cheating. Such easy shaves for me. No tugging, no coaxing, no abrading, no discomfort, no sharpening….why don’t I use these damn things everyday??? Still haven’t figured that out.
Schick E. One can get truly lost in the variants of the american manufactured Schick Injector from 1935-1955. There were quite a few noted and folks still fight out the subtleties and argue through the benefits to the user/shaver. Lucky me, I’m in Canada and there was a very stable design held through much of the period, even through several years of Eversharp’s injection into the business. So I stayed out of the variant haggle by ‘Buying Canadian’. Has worked for me. But I hauled out the 35-55 Schick Injectors I have and had some fun poking through.
I realized I have only one American Schick Injector which is in the early 1940s dark blue clamshell. I also realized I have never shaved with an American Injector so I figured I would give it a whirl here today in copy to Jayaruh’s choice.
I poked through the pile.
I chose the 1940’s Schick Injector Razor, a luxurious modern Thayer Badger, an early 1940’s puck of Old Spice I have been stretching out for special shaves like this, and a great tin of Yardley’s Invisible talc similar to ones from the 40’s. The talc was unopened and smelled great when I opened it a couple of years ago - it too has become a special one to use.
This razor is very good. I can see some comparison shave tests against the trusty Canuck model in my future!!
Great shave today. Why the heck don’t I at least adopt a Schick Saturday rule?? I know why - it does such a great job, my Sunday Lather Catcher razor will be very disappointed!! ☹️

Thanks for posting pics of this adapter. I had heard chatter of an Enders adapter and may have posted with GAW#### once about it too I think. So this is a similar approach to using an original Enders blade but with the added rare earth magnets for extra holding power. I wonder why make it from brass rather than use an original steel blade? It is good to hear it works great for you! I think I will pick up some teeny rare earth magnets if I can find them and try them on the blade I ground the edge from. Perhaps they may not need be glued that way. And if it doesn’t work out I could try one from brass. Thank you Jayaruh - great pictures for it. The speed razor is a very nice to hold razor so it would be worth the effort! Yeah SEptember!

Thank you. It is nearly identical to a Henkels Rapide, except the handle is a little different. No adapter needed, at least I don't use one. I don't use them in the Rapide either.

That's really cool that you have one as well, I have several Henkles Rapide razors and this Wester Bros seems nearly Identical, at least to me. My first wet shave experience was with a Wester Bros unmentionable razor. I wish I still had it.

I had a very enjoyable shave yesterday with my Ever-Ready 1914 little lather catcher, Subtle Art Soap co. Draconis Ignis and a beautifully resto-moded black boar hair brush.
