I love my Micromatic!! I'm not willing to commit to shaving on any specific day, let alone with a specific razor on that day, but I admire those who do.

I got a Micromatic open comb about a year ago in a trade. Two of them, actually. I gifted one away (which I slightly regret). It's a pretty aggressive razor, but I get amazing shaves with it. I recently traded away about half of my SE collection, partly because I needed to downsize due to moving, but mostly because ever since getting my MMOC no other SE was getting any love at all. I kind of want to get another one to have as a backup.....

Definitely a fan.

Lucky for you they are cheap and easy to find! Do you run it flat on the skin like GEM recommended?

Almost flat. I find that when it's completely flat it doesn't cut as well when I have a few days growth. And yes, I'm not at all worried about being able to find another. The only real problem is that they're not quite as common in Canada, and shipping something from the US often will double the price of the razor. Maybe I'll find one in an antique shop one of these days....
