I left home at 7 this morning to get to the drs office by 7:45. I had two spots that were going to be dealt with: one on my neck and one on my temple. Mohs surgery is where they take a sampling around the spot and look at it for cancer. If they find none, then you are done. If they find some, they go back and excise more. This cycle continues until it is all clear. He took samples from both places and sent me to the waiting room. After about 45 minutes they came back and announced that they would have to do it again to both. After they took the second samples I was again sent to the waiting room. When done, I found out that the neck was clear but they needed to do more on the temple. I found out that they would have to do a skin graft for the temple since it was so big. It was about the size of a quarter. After the third biopsy, I was declared clean. Now they had to stitch everything up. He stitched up the neck first. Then, they cut donor skin from my clavicle skin. It was after 3 o'clock before we could leave. It was a long day. We went to Little Pigs and had some BBQ before heading home.

I feel your pain! I've had at least two dozen Mohs surgeries going back years. Last month I was refered to general surgery for my right forearm and left side. Big holes but they got it all, squamous cells. The hole in my side hasn't closed yet. The stitching didn’t hold.
I suggest a medicinal whisky!

I have no personal experience with this but it may be worth checking into. There are other brands too.

Whew!! Doesn't sound like fun...
Jim, glad you did get out of there with an all clear.
I like the BBQ stop...good call!!
I had a mole removed from on top of my head a few years ago. They had to shave that part of my head, and the hole was big enough, that the stitches looked like the threads on a football. Lol!! Hurt for like 2 years, but all is cool now...

I shaved my head about 12 years ago when my grandson got leukemia and lost his hair due to chemo. My dermatologist found a spot about the size of a dime just beyond what I could see in the mirror. He sent me to a general surgeon who removed it with margins. I ended up with a scar that is about three inches long. My hair covers it now, but if it were not for my grandson getting leukemia and me shaving my head, I would not known of it. It was melanoma, so, it all worked out.

Glad you caught it when you did and got it taken care of! No fun, but it could have been much less fun if left alone.
Talking to a friend of ours today she mentioned that she has a spot under her eye that needs to be removed (cancer). She was concerned about a scar but a Dr is flying in who does plastic surgery to minimize issues. She was concerned, so I explained to her that they'll take a piece of skin from her armpit to put in place... She'll only need to walk around with the arm raised in the air for a few weeks waiting for the pit to heal, and she'll need to shave under her eye periodically, but no scar. That lightened the mood a bit. And I've been called much worse.

Glad things are sorting out. I had one malignant melanoma cut out of my face. That is plenty for me.
Happy shaves to ya!

![[Image: headwound.png]](https://3.bp.blogspot.com/-epa9e83Eqx4/TjnCBqvzTRI/AAAAAAAAA5U/qdolwleNB84/s1600/headwound.png) That's one of those Allah Things...there are no coincidences... especially this story! Wow!
I ended up with a long purple scar, but totally covered by my hair...BUT! My barber in Seattle, when he first saw it said, "What the Hell happened here?! Man...you better hope you never lose you hair...Women will be.covering their children's face saying, 'Dont look at the Man honey, it will give you nightmares"
Lmao!! Can you believe that!! My barber was a retired Army Barber and hard as nails and was a funny cat...Guys would hang out at his shop just to hear him tell stories. And no women aloud! Old style Man's barber complete with girly calender, lol! But what a thing to say...ha,ha!!
