Saturday's Shave
Cold Water Rinse
De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap
Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger
Unmentionable Razor
Unmentionable SS Blade
CWR
Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne
The De Vergulde Hand Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #20 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Unmentionable Razor with an Unmentionable SS Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk Cologne. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Razor: Schick D Injector
Blade: sChick
Brush: Trotter Vein Quartz/Boti Horse
Soap: Ballenclaugh The Woodsmen
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: CFG Ghost Town Barber
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1165
Used the D Injectah today after using the F yesterday. Obvious different handle feel but no issues holding and maneuvering it. I compared the heads and while the F head is bigger the blade gap and exposure seemed identical to my eye. Even so compared to yesterday's shave there in my view is more blade feel for certain in comparison. Still a smooth shave but it definitely feels more aggressive than the F........at least that's my experience with my 2 models (F and D) Can't stop feeling my face as I got a phenomenally close shave. So happy to have this new addition to the collection. Yesterday was some more log clearing on the hillside with these trees all intertwined like a giant game of pick up sticks. Slow going so as not to get pinned while cutting on a steep slope and the new saw is a dream to use. Hoping to get back on the hillside this afternoon but just to burn some branches and limbs so The Woodsman with it's smokey almost ash like scent was a good pick. Thanks again Rob ExtraProtein Have a swell day everyone !!

Thanks Greg ! He'll probably tell you my chain is loose which I know. I was done for the day when I took the photo and will tighten before next use.

This is was my SOY (Shave of Yesterday) or is it SOTY (Shave of the Yesterday)....it's not that I've grown a ZZ-Tops-like beard -- I've been regularly shaving -- but I've been lax in taking a pic, and then when I take a pic, I forget to post it. I'm trying to return to my "posting" roots, so here it goes:
Razor: Schick Injector E2 (black handle)
Blade: Yellow Pkg ("Chick", aka Chinese Schick injector blade)
Brush: Yaqi Moka Synth (Mew Brown knot)
Soap: Mitchell's Wool Fat
The report: it...was...AWESOME!!! Seriously, I love this E2. I find it reasonably efficient (I could've easily been done after 2 passes -- but I threw a 3rd pass in to stay "in the shave zone" longer); but it's also pretty darned mild....no weepers, no irritation...just a piece-of-cake shave. The only downside? The soap...and it's not the soap's fault at all. I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED the mild, clean scent from Mitchell's; but unfortunately Covid has messed with my sense of smell. I lost that particular sense completely back in July when I had a breakthrough case of Covid; and while the "sense" returned around August, it has been messed up ever since. Coffee, chicken, pork (including bacon) and "bathroom" smells (including the cat's litterbox) all smell exactly the same. And that list is not complete -- mores things "stink" than smell like I remember them. It's hard to describe (I call it Covid smell), and I am not alone (google "parosmia after Covid"), but the smell is akin to fermented onions and garlic -- basically a "rotting trash" smell. On the plus side, I've lost some weight....lots of foods taste like they smell. So Mitchell's and several of my favorite scented soaps have this issue. It may clear up, but honestly, it's been going on for so long that I've lost hope and I just live with it. At least I can "live" with it, so I shouldn't complain (but I still do).
Enough of that....the shave results were great, and I promise that going forward I'll refrain from going into TMI-mode when I post. Here's the Pic!
