The Nano is on loan to me. It is loaded with a Kai Captain Titan Mild blade and did a very good with the grain pass. The head still seems huge and cumbersome to me, but I am warming up to it. The Sabre with a Personna GEM (2) took care of the rest.
The boar is the Semogue 830 and performed like a champ. The smaller knot worked better loading out of this smaller tin that Nil is in.

Another great shave with vintage Williams today. The Williams lathered up easily with the little Omega boar brush. A 14th use Gem SS PTFE was loaded in the Gem Damaskeene OC. This is a fantastic razor and the blade is still going strung. Thayers aftershave balm and Aqua Velva Musk finalized the splendid shave.

The Sabre was my entry into GEMs. Dave in KY very kindly let me his, and I ordered myself one within a couple of shaves. And from there I branched out to vintage GEMs as well as some Schick injectors.
The Sabre is one smooth shaver, with the Level 1 plate being practically perfect. For my long work day, Level 2 gets my almost glass-like but requires a bit more attention. For me, it was money well spent.
It certainly sounds like it. I suppose I'll just have to get one someday to see for myself.

That decanter is all class. So sharp.

I just had to try out the new to me GEM Contour. While I like the Push Buttons, there's something about the handle that makes me hold it a bit funny. The smooth arch in the handle of the Contour seems to fit a bit better. That's a pretty small nitpick, I know.
I paired the Contour with a third-use PTFE Stainless blade and used some Col Conk Amber as a pre-shave. The Proraso Sensitive cream is a new product for me and it's not bad. The scent isn't unappealing but rather, just sorta there. I finished it all up with an alum rub, Clubman Pinaud Vanilla, and a bit of Nivea Sensitive aftershave balm. The three passes ended in a solid BBS shave.
It's such a treat to be able to use these razors. I get the best shaves from GEMs and injectors. I'm honestly wondering why I bother with unmentionables anymore. I guess just to break up the routine. I'm not sure how valid that is though since I have enough SEs to not get bored and there are still several I'd like to add to the collection.

Razor: New Adjustable Unmentionable

Soap: Stirling Texas on Fire

Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1140
So we are using a new razor today as well as the inaugural shave with the Fluffy Industries 86 Handle with a Maggards 24mm Premium Boar Knot. Using a manly brush like this calls for a Manly Soap Scent and Texas on Fire was summoned for duty. What an amazing shave I had from the brush handle (A heavy Beast) to the 1st use (1 test lather) Boar Knot to the Unmentionable Adjustable. The scent was a bonus and will be enjoyed all day as I run the continuing chainsaw massacre on the hillside here.
The Brush: This handle is a heavy beast as I said but it feels great in the hand and looks amazing as well. I put a spit shine on mine and we'll see if I keep it shiny or let patina have it's way. Can't thank Ken enough for his generosity in sharing it and his creativity in his designs. The Knot had a single and short test lather after a hour soak in some water yesterday and lost 1 hair then. Today during the shave, clean up and towel strop it lost...............................again a SINGLE hair. That's amazing for a new boar knot. On top of that it feels soft already with zero pokey feeling and will only get better as it breaks in. This one is a keeper and I'm stoked I got the right knot set in this handle right from the get go.
The Razor: Unmentionable Review
Hope everyone has a Stupendous Day !!!
