That really is a nice looking brush, Greg! It will be interesting to see what it looks like in a few months once it's broke in and showing it's character! Not to knock anybody else's photos because we've got some talented shooter here...but you take a lovely photo!
Before I added the two inexpensive Omega boar brushes to my recent purchase, I looked at this Zenith boar. I contacted the vendor and they have ordered more. I also contacted the Gentle Shave and he doesn't stock the unbleached brushes.
BTW...with a brush so nice, maybe it will make you want to shave your entire face! (sarcasm emoji)

Thank you. I have been having fun with the dark background and lighting like that. It's sort of like dark field photography but not quite the same.
That's a great looking brush. It would be cool to try an unbleached boar. I like the natural color. The ones I really don't like are the ones with the died stripe around them. Just a personal preference thing but they just don't look right to me.
I haven't found any brush or razor that makes me want to shave my beard off. And I've tried quite a few including some $500+ unmatchables that I got to try out.

My 8 year old son picked me up a Gem Featherweight for my birthday at an antique store with the money he gets from doing chores.
Here's what it looked like when he gave it to me.
He hung out with me while I cleaned it up today. The top cap was a a little bit pitted plus I'm a bit jealous of Old Sarge and the bare brass top cap on his 1914 little lather catcher. The combination caused me to spend an inordinate amount of time hand sanding the top cap of the Featherweight down to bare brass. Here are the results.
BTW Old Sarge I never did ask how you got your top cap to bare brass. The finish doesn't look sanded.

How sweet of your boy to get you a razor. I think it's completely worth the time spent cleaning it up.

Dang you are fast. On my end it looks like the 5 pictures are still loading after a super fast edit of the text. And you've already checked out the post. My internet really sucks.

Thanks. He's a good kid. All 3 of Them are and they all enjoy going and looking around antique stores.

That's a sweet looking razor, Greg! How great you and your son could bond over that. In two of the shots I can see subtle sanding texture, which adds personality! Sounds like wishing you a Happy Birthday is in order...so, Happy Birthday! (birthday emoji here)
When I purchased both the Little Lather Catcher (future steampunkified) and a Damaskeene, they looked in rough shape in the Ebay photos. I spent a lot of time researching the interwebs for tips on cleaning them up. There was some discussion of using Bar Keeper's Friend to clean a razor, but most folks pushed back sayin it was too corrosive. As I started cleaning the 1914 with soapy water and then scrubbing bubbles, it became apparent that the plating was too damaged to survive. We use BKF to clean our sink, so I mixed it into a paste and used a toothbrush/brass brush. Here's my post with the before shots.

NO one else bid on it and I got it for $10 Just ended and I paid. Off to bed...........
I have one and really wish there were better blades for them BECAUSE they are such a sweet looking razor. But those are double sided unmentionables aren't they?
You paid a fair bit less than I did BTW.
