Cold Water Shave
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream As Pre Shave
Razor: Triceratops (aka The Big Red One) ( Jayaruh PIF)
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (9th Use)
Brush: Jayaruh #403 Synthetic ( Jayaruh PIF)
Soap: Tcheon Fung Sing - Red
Post: Osma Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Nivea Deep Comforting After Shave, Nivea Sensitive Balm
A successful three pass shave for the first time using a 3D printed razor, the Triceratops compliments of a Jayaruh PIF. My previous lightest razor to shave with is either the Gem Featherweight or the Gem Junior w/ Baton Handle. I'm not sure of the actual weights, but this razor has to be multiple times lighter than those two. While I did earn some irritation, it didn't draw any blood. I think shaving with the Triceratops will further improve my technique, as Wchnu always says...Pressure and Angle...and while the angle wasn't really an issue, the pressure will prove to be the key for me with this light of a razor. I got an equally smooth shave as with the Gem Junior w/ Baton Handle two days ago, and maybe even smoother on certain areas like my chin. Shaved very smoothly on the chin going S to N, ATG. Oh, and does this baby talk...lots of toast scraping going on! I think this being the 9th use of this blade played a role and look forward to shaving again with a blade on its 3rd or 4th use. If you haven't seen Jim's video shaving with this, you should check it out. He notes that the design of the razor uniquely pushes the lather out the back in a unique way. I find it to be the easiest of my razors to wash out the lather/whiskers.
The Tcheon Fung Sing - Red is an Italian croap that may be a Cella clone. It creates a luxurious lather for such an inexpensive soap!
Thanks again to Jim for PIFing me Jayaruh #403 synthetic shaving brush. It's a pretty big brush, which I like! According to Jim's website, the handle is 59mm tall and the tuxedo knot is 26mm x 52mm. It's a real beauty and I very much enjoyed using it today and look forward to its many years of service!
BTW...I've given the nickname of "The Big Red One" to the Triceratops razor. The red is obvious and the big is ironic. But it is really an homage to the 1st Infantry Division of the US Army. While I never served with them, it is on of the most storied units and has been in continual service since the Big War (WWI). Their unit patch is literally a big red number one, which is one of the only unit patches I've ever noticed that has a color other than one of camouflage and they are allowed to wear when in combat fatigues.

Lather Catcher Sunday's Shave
Cold Water Rinse
Eufros Sandalo Shave Soap
Jayaruh #41 2-band Badger
J.A. Henckels Rapide
Henckels Wedge
CWR
Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS
The last day of OCtober finishes off 31 days with 31 different open comb razors. That is a first for me. It was a fun 31 days. Happy Reformation Day, all.
The Eufros Sandalo Shave Soap lathered well with Jayaruh #41 2-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher Razor with a Henckels Wedge gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Aqua Velva Ice Blue AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

OK here are the picks and a copy a d paste of what I wrote for the 9 razor shave I referred to
Ok I got really silly this morning. But I did also discover a way to make the scent of Arko tolerable. I mixed a little bit of Arko with some Cremo Cooling.
Here are the tools of choice for today's shave.
All 6 of my Gems an Eveready and a Star. Just for the front of the neck and the cheeks (I Have a beard) all with the second use Pal carbon blade for the first pass. Then switched to the gem ptfe 13th use in the Bullet tip for second pass and clean up.
Quickly ditched the old blade, threw in a new one and finished up. Then grabbed the Schick g and took care of the back of neck. So 9 razors and 4 blades used for one shave.

Lather Catcher Sunday!
Cold Water Shave w/ Warm Water Lather
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Gem Junior Bar
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (10th and Final Use)
Brush: Yaqui Green Obsidian Badger
Soap: Proraso Red Cream
Post: Osma Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Brut Classic Splash-On, Nivea Cooling Sensitive Balm
Another successful shave, limited to two passes as I knew I was at the end of the line with the 10th shave on this blade.
While I am having good results with cold water shaves, I can understand why everyone like's the feeling warm water gives. So, I've decided on a compromise. When using shaving cream and either a badger or boar brush, I will soak the brush in warm water and also have a small bowl of warm water to dip into while face lathering. It worked great today and I feel like I get the best of both worlds!
