SOTD - November 2021

Cold Water Shave w/ Hot Water Lather
Pre: Aloe Vera Glycerin Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Jayaruh Birth Year Razor
Blade: Unmentionable (4th Use)
Brush: Simpson Trafalgar T2 Synthetic
Lather: Wickham Soap Co. (Classic 24), Face Lathered
Post: Generic Reformed Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Aqua Velva Musk, Nivea Sensitive Skin & Stubble Balm

A very successful two pass shave. This Wickham Soap Co. Classic 24 recently arrived from the UK and this was the first use. I'm terrible at describing scents, but the website describes it as "essence of a 50s barbers shop, Classic 24 is a fruity, leather fragrance for the modern, classic man." It is a vegan soap and it seemed to start lathering even before I put the brush in the tub...just that easy. Face lathering was a breeze and the soap's performance was great during the shave. I nearly passed on this soap, as I wanted Irish Fern, but it was out of stock. I'm glad I got it! I know Tony'schin has a number of these soaps.

I have the Irish fern and LOVE it. I hope they do restock it in the future. I hear the fougère from PAA is phenomenal too. I'll eventually have to pick some up.

Blade: sharp!
Brush: Simpson Butterscotch Chubby 2 Synthetic
Pre-Shave: Proraso White
Lather: Noble Otter The Noir et Vanille
Aftershave: Maurer & Wirtz 4711 Aftershave
Additional Care:
Thayers Facial Tonic Witch Hazel Unscented
  Imperial Leather Talcum Powder

I've been considering picking up some Noble Otter when I'm ready for more soap. Not that I need or will need any new soap for some time.

It's great stuff, and it's made from vegans!

After using a 1924 for the first time in a long time the other day I though I should use it's predecessor, the 1909, for comparison.  I have to say the 1909 is a milder smoother shave

I'd never heard of the ER 1909 until now. That's a great image! How does it compare to the ER 1924?

Did a bit of Googling and found that Jayaruh did a ER 1909 shave video with a vintage Gem blade. His video included a close-up of loading the blade and stropping the blade.

Thanks to both of you gentlemen bringing me awareness of the ER 1909!

Cold Water Rinse
3P Shave Soap
Semogue 1305 Boar
Triceratops 3D
Personna GEM SS PTFE
CWR
Lustray Spice After Shave

Day 21 of 3D Printed Razor Month

The 3P Shave Soap lathered well with the Semogue 1305 Boar Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Triceratops 3D Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Great looking brush. I need to get a few more knots a d make one with a simple shape like that. Sometimes simple shapes can be so elegant.
