First shave went quite well, no major issues at all. I think any feedback I have right now is firmly in the personal preference category.
My blade might have caught up in a little excess stringy plastic in the gaps when I first put it in, after clipping the spine down the blade was visibly misaligned front to back. Removing the blade and taking a little more care reinserting resolved the issue right away.
The light weight is definitely something I had the be aware of, small movements in my hand and fingers don’t get any resistance like with a heavier razor, which is likely to be expected due to the plastic construction. I don’t see any way around this and fortunately it’s something that I’m sure I’ll adjust to in no time. I like to choke up on lighter razors, gripping very close to the head. With the very small diameter of the handle at that point any slight twist of my fingers translate in to fairly substantial movement at the head. Again though, something that might just need some practice.
The height of the bumps over top the blade stop area wasn’t noticeable until my third pass, when they started to become a bit of a nuisance. As mentioned in previous posts though, those areas look like they can easily be filed down some without impacting performance.
Angles were pretty intuitive for anyone who’s familiar with lather catchers. I didn’t notice any additional tendencies to trap stubble over what would be expected from a normal lather catcher.
Final results didn’t get as close as any of the traditional counterparts, but I’m happy to say that’s user error, at least until I get more shaves from this razor.
