@"Toby C" I didn't grow up in a household were music was played much and didn't start listening to music much till I was older and on my own. So while I've heard both originals before they are just vaguely familiar, so I guess it's easier for me to appreciate both renditions of the two songs. But I can definitely relate to not caring what some artists do with covers of songs I am very familiar with.

My folks didn't have any music either, not even a radio, but we did watch Ed Sullivan and some of the country shows that came on on Saturdays, like The Porter Waggoner Show. I was always drawn to it, and I like a variety of stuff, but most "modern" stuff is crap.
