Lather Catcher Sunday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Lea Shave Cream
Jayaruh #454 Two-band Badger
Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher
Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade
CWR
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Lustray Spice After Shave

The Lea Shave Cream was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #454 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Gem Jr. Bar Lather Catcher Razor and the Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Lustray Spice After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I love that handle you made. I have still missed picking up a Jr with this type of handle and have yet to shave with one. Just don’t seem to have come across them except I saw one once years ago in an antique store. It was pristine, but pricey and without a case so I passed. I still sigh every once in a while over having not picked it up. I tried making a handle once - looked like cr*p once I had finished! No pics were taken. It is no longer with us! Blush

SEptember 2025 - Last Lather Catcher Sunday! Oh my!

Jayaruh - you picked a winner for today. These Jr Bars are darn near my favorite shaver out of every razor I have  ever used. And I have used one or two! We had a big black bear near the house at morning coffee today so I had to    use a bear fat shaving soap in his honor. That together with my Copper Hat badger and a Gem Ptfe with shim (I prefer the angle adjusted blade presentation) Sunday morning was Greeeaaaatttt!!!

A great start to the day!

SEptember Countdown……..

Sad  No Tnnser for me.

Chance to use a Rolls. One of my favourites because they are just so much darn work. I don’t use a Rolls hone but rather I prefer to finish on this awesome Shobudani stone I picked up at the estate sale of a Japanese barber who immigrated to Vancouver Island in the 1920s and brought this stone with him. He had a barber shop in Campbell River BC for many years.  I was told by his retired age son that it had originally belonged to his dad’s grandfather who had been a barber in Japan. It puts a glass edge on these Rolls blades. (I wish my Ipad camera could do the same.)

The shave was simple. An Imperial 2 non-telescoping handle with a 1935 I2 blade. A mid 30s Klenzo boar and some Truefitt & Hill sandalwood puck. I got the edge just right. Yay! Great shave today.

One day left! I wonder what Jayaruh has planned for the last day???

Tabac Tuesday's Cold Water Shave

Cold Water Rinse
Tabac Shave Soap
Jayaruh #30 Silvertip Badger
RazoRock Black Hawk
Feather AC Blade
CWR
Humphrey's Witch Hazel
Tabac After Shave

Today is the last day of SEptember. I end it with my RazoRock Black Hawk razor. That is 30 different single edge razors. Tomorrow I will start Open Comb OCtober and do 31 days with 31 different open comb razors.

For today's shave, the Tabac Shave Soap was face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #30 Silvertip Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the RazoRock Black Hawk and the Feather AC Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Very nice choice. I should have used mine this month. I am not going to try to figure out which SE razors did not make it into the line up this month. I did choose one of my AC razors fot the last day of SEptember, the RazoRock Black Hawk.

SEptember 2025 -Rest In Peace

I have no modern SE razors so I am unable to join in today. This will be a good day to put my SOTD contributions to rest and give my stubble some much needed time off.

It has been fun.

The Gem Junior Bar is one of my all time favorite razors.
