Been wondering if you had retired yet. Yep folks, this fella is one of the originals. To this day he still has the record for the most numerous and rarest finds in the wild. He also restored a lot of vintage brushes. We had a lot of laughs and fun times while learning about SEs. Oh, and just a little tip if you already hadn’t noticed; look close at his shades. By the way Tom, what’s on the smoker?

Thanks, yeah we really did have a lot of fun learning about these things together. I did seem to stumble on some pretty cool stuff, it was mostly just dumb luck for the most part. And yeah, I’m still ruining perfectly good cuts of meat with wood and charcoal!

I still have the gorgeous Ever-Ready brush you gave me many years ago, still using it with the TGN boar knot I put in it. It’s by far my most treasured brush and I think of your kindness and generosity every time I use it.

Doing just that... Course no gigs anywhere in the World right now, but I'm burning up my home and all those in ear shot. Lol... See aren't you glad you don't have a trumpet or drummer living in your basement?

So Tom... What's your favorite set up these days?

Yeah, I know it's been really tough on musicians, hopefully it'll get sorted out and you can get back to entertaining folks. Probably no surprise that the 1912 is still my favorite, with the Damaskeene being the top dog, but I've been using injectors a whole lot the last few years. A co-worker gave me a box full of old razors that belonged to his grandfather that included a well used Micromatic and an M3 Schick adjustable that looked unused, or used very little, along with several unmentionables. He said his grandfather would shave in the morning and by evening he looked like he hadn't shaved for two or three days, the way the Micromatic is worn I believe he used it a lot, as did one of the unmentionables that is known for being aggressive.

The M3 is the Protector model and with it cranked all the way up to 11 it's probably my most efficient razor, I find myself using it a lot and it never fails to deliver. I've also used the daylights out of my Wilkinson Bonded, which I think is OK to mention since it only uses one single edge blade and is a vintage razor.

What about you?

I went through a phase where my fave was an ER 1909 predecessor for the 1924. Man I was smitten. Still love that design.
Now my 3 faves are an early ER Lather Catcher it's from like 1912 or 13 but looks like a 1907 style.
Also there's an A1 Auto-Strop I love for if I miss a few days and have a hedge to clip, lol!
But my regular day in/out is a simple chrome Schick I2 Hydrozilla... It my most aggressive Injector. It's funny, the chrome I2 is much more aggressive than my gold one. But it's still a pussycat if used with a light touch.

I have a Damaskeene Open Comb I dig for when Im looking for a mild shave.

That Protector you have is a smokin' travel-jector.. Just throw it in the shave bag and no worries ??

Please show us some Brush porn pics of some of your brush rehabs that you have done. That would be great...
