Watches and watch restoration
#1
Any more watches anyone wants to share. Also here a vintage Timex falcon eye I had serviced. It's from the late 70s. The movement was seized the watchmaker said it looked like water or moisture damage. It had been sitting in a pile of watches in the antique store for who knows how long. But a parts watch and 30 hours later they got it going. Really unique quartz and mechanical hybrid very fast beat rate giving a smooth second hand.

Thanks. I think of it as a piece of history. Plus I like supporting watch makers it's a dying art.

I'm glad you got that one working and back in circulation.  I love watches, but while the lady of the house seems to understand my need to have more than one razor (many more, actually), I'm not convinced she would be so understanding if I went down that rabbit hole with watches.  I have a Tissot that I picked up in Switzerland (Lucerne) on vacation over 30 years ago....it's a quartz, and while I like the light weight feeling of a quartz, I am mesmerized by mechanical watches with the exhibition backplates -- but my budget has only allowed for a Seiko 5.  I'll post some pics here before long.  Cool thread!

Thanks man alot of sweat and love went into it. We were going to put the movement that the reissued 2019 falcon eye uses into it. But the face of the new one has a slightly redesigned day date window. So it didn't fit well. I'm glad I had no idea how cool 70s Timex electric movements were. Unique sound and feel nothing like modern quartz.
