This Badger is just as amazing. Not the gel tip. My ONLY issue with the knot is it's TOO big for me to grab as often as I wold ifit was smaller. I think it's a 26mm but I swear it feels like a 30mm. No shedding, soft feel and dense pack on the knot giving it good backbone without being to stiff. I just can't remember which it was as there are so many varieties. My large knot is in a ferrule for the Rubberset and you ain't getting that ![]() RE: SOTD - November 2021 - GAW9576 - 11-27-2021 (11-27-2021, 04:26 PM)Dave in KY Wrote:(11-27-2021, 04:06 PM)GAW9576 Wrote: Thanks Dave I will definitely consider the Oumo knots known. I am making 2 horn handles right now and it just doesn't seem right to set a synthetic knot in a horn handle to me. So I've been trying to figure out what to use in them. Thanks for posting the pictures and I'm super jealous of that Unmentionable razor. You might want to edit that particular picture. That's the brush I was thinking you were referring to but wanted to be sure. I will definitely have to make one like that sometime. RE: SOTD - November 2021 - GAW9576 - 11-27-2021 I was so busy yesterday I didn't get around to posting this fantastic shave. The J.A. Henckels Rapide razor performed flawlessly and the Mer Shavings Fougère Orange whipped up wonderfully with a Zenith Boar brush. They are interesting to me. How do you like it and how does it compare to other brushes/knots that you use? That's a lot of horsies! (horse emoji here) I know there are many factors to consider and personal preference, but do you have a horse hair brush that is currently on the market that you would recommend for someone to start with? Thanks! Salter Cream (Indian Sandalwood), Face Lathered Post: Generic Reformed Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Nivea Deep After Shave, Nivea Sensitive Balm I've been on a kind of unplanned shaving sabbatical, with many things going on over the Thanksgiving holiday. It'll take me a hot minute to catch up on folks postings! ![]() It's been a while since I've not shaved for three days, so I had four days growth. It was the first use of the Cyril R. Salter Indian Sandalwood shaving cream. Man does this stuff smell great! I have two Proraso creams in tubes, but this is my first cream in a tub. I debated for a while how I was going to load the brush and just decided to keep it simple and load the brush straight from the tub. I was a bit conservative with the load and for the second pass. It lathered well and did I say that it smells great! The shave went great and I even snuck in ATG on the cheeks on the second pass. Having had a good break to rest, my face felt great and I'm rearing to go again tomorrow! We don't have Thanksgiving here so we miss out on all that turkey. We have somehow managed import Black Friday lately and all we get for that is a lot of spam. |
