Not so many of these early (yours was the third iteration produced 1910-1913 according to Waits, and this case was advertised in the latter part of that period when they followed the black leather boxes) off the line Auto Strops left kicking around. Maybe there is hope for me too one day to join the Club. With an A2 the earliest in my stable, I just get to tend the Club’s front door and look at the few select cool kids inside. Sigh. Enjoy!!! I've been wanting to try a gem Contour 2 for a while, I Found a good deal on a NOS on eBay. When it showed up two arrived with a nice note from the seller! ( I opened the left one)

Boar brushes, brass razors, and hard pucks ARE traditional wet shaving. Everything else is modern day fluff for the girly men.

I didn't look that close when I bought it. I found out that it opened when I got home. Apparently a previous owner clipped a tab. Not something I would do, especially to a razor in such good condition. The razor is in otherwise excellent condition. So for the $9 I paid for it I'm not exactly upset that it isn't supposed to open but now does. |
