I said that I didn't know if I was being dumb for buying this razor and now I know it was a dumb thing to do. This is the pretty woman who can't cook and don't like sex! I put a fresh PTFE blade in it today and it cut my throat more than it did my whiskers. I pulled out a Schick to rescue the shave but the damage was done. I may have to skip my shave tomorrow while my neck heals. You won't see this one for a while I need to give it a rest. OUCH!

So my earlier post was actually the 31 of January. Anyway today I used the rolls razor again and stripped the blade with the edge pro 30 times per side. I adjusted my angle and ran very flat to the face. I got a bbs shave. It wasn't flawless it was a bit rougher on my skin than my other favorite razors but I'm working on my technique with it. Two tiny blood drops sealed themselves no real redness and no lasting irritation. So pretty decent shave a big improvement over yesterday's. I used paa wow signal soap and aftershave(original version), paa atomic rocket large brush, Turkish shave bowl and witch hazel. I've found get a better aftershave experience using witch hazel before aftershave. Some scents like bay rum give me redness even if my skin feels fine before hand but not with witch hazel used right before.

I used to do witch hazel before aftershave for years, then one day, I cut it out. However, I am thinking of reintroducing it. Glad that shave worked out ok.

Very, very nice two pass shave.
Thanks Tom!
What a great-looking razor! That's not one I'm familiar with. It never ceases to amaze me how many different ideas about what a razor could be there were at that point in time.

The Tabac Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #424 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready 1924 Razor with a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Tabac After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...
I commented on your video already but I thought I might as well say it here too. This is one of the GEM razors that I'd like to pick up soon. I really like the look of it. Your clear tape on the blade edges is very clever.

What a shame! It's a very interesting-looking razor. I hadn't heard of it until now and maybe this is why!

How is the OC variant? I have to imagine there's more blade feel but that's not always the case.

I feel the OC of the Hawk V3 has much more blade feel than the other versions I have tried.
I also have the ATT GA razor with both original plates and have not had troubles with it other than it being a very mild razor...hope you are able to dial it in.

Pre - Shower
Brush - Mühle Lge Classic Silvertip Synth
Soap - Signature Soap Vectis
Razor - Unmentionable SE
Blade - Feather Pro Guard (1)
Post - Cold water Rinse, TC's infused Witch Hazel
Balm - Barts Balm Lime Balm & Lotion
A/S - Williams Aqua Velva Formula 1
Whoa! I was not expecting that!
A really nice, slick covering face lathered with the wonderful gift of a new Mühle Silvertip Synth from a fellow shaver, It made really short work of the soap today and produced copious amounts of the good stuff.
The new to me Unmentionable SE fitted with a first use for me Pro-Guard was up for duty today.
I was expecting the blade to be on the milder side as it is guarded, no such luck, from the first stroke i new this was going to need attention. The handle shape is also new to me so took a bit getting used to, i completed the first pass and came through unscathed, although from the rinse-off i knew it was really close in some areas, i followed up with some touch up to finish the shave with a BBS finish, no visible marks, cuts or weepers .
I used the Barts Balm "face medic" to help my skin along, i did get a little indication here and there from the splash that did not last too long.
All in all very happy with that.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All
