When we got married in 1986 my wife and her parents cashed in a ton of Green stamps for all kinds of kitchen appliances. Pots and pans cooking set, mixers etc.

Buy groceries and you would get S&H green stamps, like a rewards program for doing business with them.

These posts about green stamps stir up general sentimental feelings from childhood. I vaguely remember my Mom saving them up, not sure what for. Great link you posted TobyC and great photo Twelvefret! Dave in KY, that must have been near the end of the green stamp program. What a great way to setup your new home!

OK I've heard of them then but I was born in 76 so they were not around buy the time I was old enough to have used them. I don't think I've ever seen an S&H store. I wonder if they were in Michigan.
