Razor repair anyone? Ever-Ready
#1
I don't know if y'all will be able to see this picture or not... please tell me if you can.  It's a picture of 4 vintage Ever-Ready razors, each with the same problem... they have a blade stop that has worn down to the point that it can't hold a blade from going forward when shaving.  The three on the right have the blade stop on our right worn down.  The razor on the left is a 1912 version and the blade stop on the left is broken off.  If anyone can fix this sort of problem, i'd be willing to pay for it if reasonable or trade one for fixing the others or whatever.  Have others seen this tendency with the old Ever-Ready razors?

I can see your picture just fine, but I'm afraid I can't be of help in this matter. You might try a wedge adapter in the lather catchers.   You can get one on Etsy.

Great idea!  I'll try that.

My wedge adapter didn't fit, but I put a thin AutoStrop blade under the single edge blade to hold it tightly in place and it worked great!  Thanks for the idea!

Did you despine the gem blade and use both halves of the adapter? I sometimes get by with the spine on and just the botton half. Depends on the razor. Anyway, it sounds like you have it worked out.

I didn't think about that.  I just put the AutoStrop blade underneath the SE blade with the spine intact.
