7 O'Clock SE Razor - Dave in KY - 06-27-2021

Another Lot Purchase came in the other day. Besides 2 Unmentionable  Razors, I was focused on one in particular...This one !!

It was VERY Tarnished

I gave it the Water, Baking Soda and Aluminum Foil Treatment and then a little polishing cloth work and 10 minutes later...........

That looks like a self-stropping razor similar to AutoStrop. That is the first I have seen of those. Cool.

Yep, not self stropping I don't think but a strop is on the  back of the one black labeled board. VERY well worn too.

Was watching that but got too pricy for me. That baseplate under the 7oclock will fit on that cap that's screwed on a handle.

Bottom row #2, is that a clone or the real deal?

Really hot boiling water to aliminium foil and add baking soda. It is very good if the plating is silver. Its no aggressive on the silver oxide. I've used it on a couple of vintage "Improved" unmentionaable from that monopoly company  which makes moern 3-4-5 vibrating blade abominations .

Edit : Make sure the razor touches the aluminium literally loosely wrapped.

Very nice. I have one but found the modified Gem is shorter than the original blade (top left) and therefore  mild. The Feather was a little too long and aggressive. It was my intention to try to get a pin behind a modified Gem so it was set forward slightly but I never got round to it. I was also worried the pin would be stuck permanently.
