Pastuer's is getting more but I was tired of waiting. My Type A came in to and I'm stoked. Was missing the blade tray but the extra 20 blade tube had the blades in a tray which was inserted and it worked flawlessly. Gotta find another tray for my B just for the cool factor of it working as intended.

Congratulations that's awesome.

Read about the guy, he wanted the user to never have to handle an individual blade, just drop in the pack and go. Buy another original can of blades and you'll be good,... maybe get extras for the future.

That's the plan but they are hard to come by. A 6-Pack of them is up now with a B Repeater and seller won't split it up for me  Sad

Interim report. Started cleaning the Damaskeene and 1914 first. With just a 30 minute hot water Dawn soak and scrubbing with brush, the Dammy head came out looking great. Only a few scratches on the top cap, but all plating looks solid and it's got a nice shine all over. There were still a few spots on the Dammy handle and the 1914 didn't improve that much at all so out came the Kroger version of non-bleach scrubbing bubbles for a 10 minute soak. After brushing everything, only a couple minor areas on the Dammy handle but the 1914 showed not much improvement. So, out with the brass brush, which cleaned up both handle pretty nicely. With the 1914 head, the back side plating eventually cleaned up, but it looks like the top cap might end up going down to brass. The top cap is a much lighter material than the base plate/back side and as I got some of the black removed I see a bit of pitting. I'm not sure what happened to this razor to make it so black, perhaps fire? I'm going to keep working on it and if in the end I get a razor with a brass cap, then so be it as long as it shave OK.

It's Sho Vel He ad. With that spacing. I can't believe people can't get that correct. Actually it's which ever way you want as far as I'm concerned.

Be careful, some unknowing jackass will spread that all over the internet!!!

Shovelhead is just a made up name from some other unknowing jackass, probably in the early days of B&B, it's also known as the 1924, which is also wrong, that's when an original ad appeared in Field and Stream magazine.

I say "Shovelhead" just because everyone knows what that is and I don't have to explain what I'm talking about.

TobyC I am hoping that these are BRASS blade cases and that the rumours are true that the brass ones have a Blade tray inside them that is the same as the repeaters and works. We'll see when it arrives. If not, I have an extra Injector  Rolleyes

Hey TobyC, you left me hanging, Bud! You gave me some great knowledge of why the two different names for this razor are being incorrectly used...but didn't give me a name that I should be using. Help a brother out? Big Grin

Hey Dave in KY! Congrats on the soap. I'm sure it will be worth the wait! The patina on that razor is so cool. Looks like it could be a mini light saber...may the force be with you! Big Grin

Well like I said, I call it a Shovelhead, if you say that or 1924 folks will understand, if you say 1919 they will have no idea what you're talking about, so it's your choice.

LOOK.

Got it TobyC, so either Shovelhead or Sho Vel He Ad per GAW9576. Big Grin That was a good link you provided and there was another good link within. Good to know more about the razor, the difference in the handle mount and round vs. square guards. Thanks!
