RE: What can we do better? - Jayaruh - 05-31-2020 I am using the latest version of Chrome on my hp laptop, and TOST is not formatted, it is wonky and very hard to decipher. This is what I am seeing: https://i.postimg.cc/6phFQY9p/tosthome.jpg RE: What can we do better? - RobinK - 05-31-2020 (05-31-2020, 11:36 AM)Jayaruh Wrote: I am using the latest version of Chrome on my hp laptop, and TOST is not formatted, it is wonky and very hard to decipher.Open the site in an incognito window (see my previous post). Does it still not fully load? Are all extensions (such as an over-zealous ad blocker) disabled in incognito mode? I hope there is not a next time. This is what I am seeing: https://i.postimg.cc/6phFQY9p/tosthome.jpgI have been using both my Android phone with Chrome and My laptop using Microsoft Edge and I have not had any formatting issues. I will see if there are any settings that are wrong...but with my devices working it may be hard to find. Still wonky even after logging out and closing out the browser. The first thing I try in a situation like this is to open an incognito window. The easiest way to open an incognito window is with the keyboard shortcut combination Ctrl-Shift-N (Windows) or Command-Shift-N (macOS) [Chrome, Edge] or Ctrl-Shift-P (Windows) or Command-Shift-P (macOS) [Firefox]. Incognito mode will start a completely fresh instance of the browser, including, critically, no cookies. If the site works in incognito mode, it's time for spring cleaning regarding your browser (see above, CTRL-SHIFT-DEL, Cookies). RE: What can we do better? - Jayaruh - 05-31-2020 It looks like the time for the TOST3 is set to GMT. That is interesting, but it takes me some time to adjust. You can set the zone in the UserCP: http://www.tost3.com/usercp.php?action=options RE: What can we do better? - mayer57619 - 05-31-2020 (05-31-2020, 02:16 PM)Jayaruh Wrote: It looks like the time for the TOST3 is set to GMT. RE: What can we do better? - riverrun - 05-31-2020 Grrrr... Cleared the cache and cookies and whatnot to get this site to work again. It's a major pain as that logs you out everywhere. Don't make me do it again. It's rude. I didn't break it, you guys did, even if you don't know how. (And I will not disable my adblocker for nobody - just saying) RE: What can we do better? - RobinK - 05-31-2020 (05-31-2020, 05:49 PM)riverrun Wrote: Grrrr... Cleared the cache and cookies and whatnot to get this site to work again. Well, that was a entirely avoidable, see https://www.tost3.com/showthread.php?tid=43&pid=737#pid737 As for the adblocker: They are primarily security and privacy tools these days. I have selectively enabled certain features for this site (ublock, piHole). It would be nice if the SSL certificate for the site were valid and HTTPS were made the default. It's not a deal-breaker, just good practice. Google positively hates non-SSL sites, and they're right. Fun fact: At least on Chrome Dev for Android, you can reproduce the bug with the missing CSS we've been discussing my manually changing the URL to HTTPS. |
