Out of all the new GEM razors I received a few days ago, I just couldn't wait to try the G-Bar. It just has such an interesting look to it and a nice heft to it as well. The one I got is in particularly nice shape (note the reflection of the head in the picture) and I found it to be a very comfortable shaver.

I lathered up with a Hendrix Classics & Co brush and their Badass soap in a porcelain bowl, put a new PTFE blade in the razor, and managed a three-pass DFS shave. I was particularly careful so as to not chew up my face as I did with my last new blade, which, consequently, was my first ever GEM shave that ended badly. It was completely my fault and I have since had some lovely shaves with several different GEM razors.

The one I found appeared to never have been used. Such a shame, but good for me. Thank you for posting.

I'm finding that to be true of many of the vintage razors I've purchased. They are either lightly used or were well cared for and just need to be properly cleaned. I'm sure $200 razors are enjoyable to use but I'm having so much fun with $5-$20 vintage razors that I may never find out.

Eric, that's a wonderful photo and a good looking razor! You did a great job getting the reflection of the skull on the top cap! (thumbs up emoji here)

Triceratops Thursday in November!
Cold Water Shave
Pre: Neutrogena Soap Face Wash, Noxzema Cream as Pre Shave
Razor: Triceratops 3D Printed
Blade: Gem SS PTFE (3rd Use/Gem Side Up)
Brush: Semogue SOC Premium Boar in Taj Resin
Lather: Mike’s Natural Soap (Orange, Cedarwood & Black Pepper), Bowl Lathered
Post: Osma Alum Block, T.N. Dickinson’s Witch Hazel, Clubman Pinaud Lime Sec, Nivea Sensitive Balm

In support of Jayaruh's 3D Printed Razor Month, I'll be observing Triceratops Thursday in November (since I only have one 3D printed razor)!  Big Grin

A successful three pass shave and I even added in ATG all around as touch up on the last pass. I'm not sure why, but the light weight razors suit me. I also get a smooth, close and mostly irritation free shave with the Gem Junior w/ baton handle. I must be able to better modulate the amount of pressure I'm placing on the razor?
