A picture would help determine weather the one was modified or weather it may have been a different variation. Possibly a prototype.

OK... here are my 2 OC Micromatics, one with three bumps, one with none.  Had no idea that some were rarer than others.  They have exactly the same patent numbers

Looks to me like the Brass one was originally Bumpless and then someone filed down the center oval. Perhaps to get a none Gem blade to fit.

Looking at it up close, it looks like it's such a smooth cut, that I suspect that it came that way from the factory.  Just guessing of course... have a good day.
