After looking for two years or so, the following shows up on eBay today: Wilkinson 7-day Empire Set with 6 blades in a nice condition case. Buy it now for £15 - yet nobody is interested. Have a look why: ![]() ![]() Yes, it's not a Wilkinson Empire at all, but a GEM 1912. I already have three Wilkinson Empire razors, but no 7-day-set box and no usable blades. The blades are worth a gamble. No good images of them. I also have no GEM branded 1912. If the blades are good... £5 each - absolute minimum. The 1912 £5 minimum, more in the UK, the box looks very good... £10 surely... That's even with buy-them-all discount well more than twice what I paid. And all that just pops into existence a day after I mention it? Magic! (And no - I didn't start looking harder yesterday. Just one of my usual daily eBay email search alerts - which usually just wash overpriced flotsam and jetsam into my mailbox) RE: Wilkinson Sword Empire Set - Jayaruh - 12-05-2022 (12-05-2022, 06:25 PM)riverrun Wrote:(12-04-2022, 11:35 PM)Jayaruh Wrote: I hope you get your seven day set. At least you are in the right country. HA! Looks like mine will arrive tomorrow. I can hardly wait. You get the case and some blades. Plus a 1912 Gem. RE: Wilkinson Sword Empire Set - Jayaruh - 12-06-2022 Well, it made it. I took pictures and cleaned it up. It has one hollow ground blade and four spined WS blades. The spined blades are partially rusted. My computer is with a computer guy who is replacing a noisy fan and hopefully recovering some files for me. So, I can't do the photo things until I get it back. Going to the dermatologist tomorrow for work on my left side of neck. I will post pics when I get my laptop back. The Empire razor is not very valuable in the UK. Common as muck. Try selling one without a nice case... (12-06-2022, 02:08 AM)Jayaruh Wrote: Well, it made it. I took pictures and cleaned it up. I'm home now after 5 hours at the dermatologist. He removed the spot with martins and had to go back one more time to get some at the 10 o'clock position. Then, he was able to close. I am working from my wife's computer today. RE: Wilkinson Sword Empire Set - Whiterook - 12-07-2022 I bet the Coronation sets aren't that cheap! |
