This was my first time with a Micromatic Double edge blade. It made for a great shave. Just as smooth as a current production blade. 

Good for you. I was gifted a tuck of MM DE blades. Unfortunately, every one of the blades had rust on the edges. I kept them for display only since I am not shaving with a rusty blade.

If I use an unmentionable razor and only use one side of the blade can I mention it here?

Just kidding. Those double-edged-single-edge blades were well cool.
I've never seen them in shavable condition, so good on you.

A few notes:
- Those blades are the reason later Micromatics have bumps on the blade-holder because those blades aren't propped up by the spine but by the bumps.
- What if I have a proper SE razor that takes proper unmentionable blades. Is that mentionable?

My East-German Golf-71 (which unfortunately doesn't hold its unmentionable blade firmly. Designed by bearded Stalinists I think)

I think someone posted a Jones Shake Sharp on here and he wasn't burned at the stake.

My ears were burning   I was told my Shake Sharps are fair because only one side is usable so your good if that's the same which it appears to be so. 

I’ve asked the question elsewhere and have never received a decent answer “Why are vintage blades sought after?” Is it just because they are interesting or was the steel better or something? I have some older injector blades that I have yet to try. Maybe I’m missing out?

With blade formats that are no longer made I understand. Other than that I've only shaved with 2 or 3 vintage blades. Most I've gotten were unusable. Although I did recently pick up some Personna 74s because they were astonishingly reasonably priced for how legendary those blades are.

Spoilers and certain British made blades are worth looking for, both out of production for many many years.

Sharp and long lasting is the reason.

Thank you. I knew the 74s had that reputation but didn't know why some other blades were desirable.
